Music at its best is an outpouring of emotion.  Dan West is exceptional at capturing the emotion of a song and sharing it with the audience.  Dan’s voice, full and rich, conveys the depth and rawness it takes when singing a song like Eric Taylor’s Sherman Karmann.  With a twinkle in his eyes, Dan will then turn around a sing a great beer drinking song from George Jones.  Dan sings about life…the good times and the bad times.

There are craftsman and there are artist.  Dan is both.  As a craftsman he listens to music and allows it to soak into his soul.  As an artist he takes that music and shares it from his soul. Always humble and respectful, Dan lets the music be the focus.  He gets out of the way of the story.  He gets out of the way of the melody.  He just lets story seemingly tell itself.  It just flows.

If you get a chance to hear Dan don’t miss it.  If you do get to hear Dan, my bet is you will leave with a song in your head and a smile on your face.
